The BloomFund Giving Guarantee ensures that every donation made through BloomFund is protected against misuse, fraud, and unauthorized activity.
This Guarantee is our commitment to maintaining a safe, transparent, and trustworthy fundraising ecosystem.
1What the BloomFund Giving Guarantee Covers
We protect donors 100% in the following cases:
1.1 Misrepresentation of a Campaign
If a fundraiser intentionally provides false, misleading, or deceptive information, including:
- • Fake beneficiaries
- • Fabricated stories
- • False emergencies
- • Misuse of images or identities
BloomFund may refund your donation in full.
1.2 Misuse of Funds
If funds are not used for the stated purpose of the campaign, including:
- • Spending donations on unrelated personal use
- • Transferring funds to unauthorized individuals
- • Not delivering the stated relief, assistance, or charitable outcome
BloomFund may provide a full or partial donor refund depending on the situation.
1.3 Unauthorized or Fraudulent Donor Transactions
If your donation was made using:
- • A stolen device
- • A compromised payment method
- • An unauthorized transaction on Paystack/mobile money
You may request a full refund.
1.4 Failed or Unaccounted Withdrawals
If campaign funds are:
- • Withdrawn by someone not authorized
- • Sent to the wrong account
- • Lost due to payment processing errors proven to be outside your control
BloomFund may restore the donation or refund you.
2Requirements to Qualify for the Guarantee
To maintain fairness and protection for both donors and organizers, BloomFund may require:
2.1 Proof of Donation
Such as:
- • Payment receipt
- • Transaction ID
- • SMS or email confirmation
- • Payment reference from Paystack or mobile money
2.2 Reason for the Request
You may need to explain:
- • Why you believe the campaign is misleading
- • How funds are being misused
- • Evidence or observations that support your concern
You are never required to directly contact the organizer or beneficiary.
2.3 Verification Checks
BloomFund may review:
- • Campaign updates and communication
- • Organizer identity and verification documents
- • Withdrawal logs and financial movements
- • Donor payment history (for fraud checks)
- • Any internal security flags
3What the Guarantee Does Not Cover
The Guarantee does not apply to:
3.1 Disagreements with Organisers
Such as:
- • Campaign update frequency
- • Organizer communication style
- • Delays in executing project activities
- • Changes in operational timelines
3.2 Good-Faith Fundraising Errors
If a fundraiser acts honestly but:
- • Overestimates costs
- • Underestimates timelines
- • Faces unforeseen project delays
This is not considered misuse.
3.3 Donor Regret
Changing your mind after donating does not qualify for a refund under this Guarantee.
3.4 Donations Made Outside BloomFund
Any contribution not processed through:
- • The BloomFund platform
- • Official BloomFund links
- • Verified embed widgets
is not covered by this Guarantee.
4How to File a BloomFund Giving Guarantee Claim
Include the following in your email:
- • Your name
- • Donation reference
- • Name of the campaign
- • Reason for your concern
- • Any screenshots or evidence
What Happens Next
BloomFund will:
- 1. Acknowledge your request within 48 hours
- 2. Conduct a verification review
- 3. Contact the organizer (if needed)
- 4. Decide on eligibility
- 5. Process a refund if approved
Refund Methods
Refunds are issued via:
- • Mobile Money
- • Bank Transfer
- • Paystack reversal (if applicable)
Processing time: 3–10 business days depending on the payment channel.
5Actions BloomFund May Take if Misconduct Is Confirmed
If a campaign breaches trust or violates BloomFund rules:
- • Campaign will be paused or removed
- • Organizer's account may be restricted or permanently banned
- • Withdrawals may be frozen
- • Funds may be returned or redistributed
- • Severe cases may be reported to:
- – Ghana Police Service
- – Cyber Crime Unit
- – Financial Intelligence Centre
This is to safeguard donors and uphold integrity across the platform.
6Organizer and Beneficiary Responsibilities
To maintain eligibility under this Guarantee, organizers must:
- • Provide accurate campaign information
- • Use funds for the stated purposes
- • Cooperate with BloomFund's verification team
- • Provide updates when reasonably requested
- • Not engage in fraudulent or deceptive activity
Failure to comply automatically voids campaign eligibility and may lead to account actions.
7BloomFund's Rights Under the Guarantee
BloomFund reserves the right to:
- • Approve or reject a claim
- • Request additional documentation
- • Freeze suspicious withdrawals
- • Reverse donations where fraud is proven
- • Recover refunded amounts from organizers or beneficiaries
The Guarantee is discretionary and does not operate as an insurance product or financial instrument.
8Important Limitations
The BloomFund Giving Guarantee:
- • Covers donors, not organizers
- • Applies only to donations processed within 90 days
- • Does not cover force-majeure events (natural disasters, bank outages, payment network failures)
- • Applies only to donations made through BloomFund's official payment systems
